ABOUT ME

KhyneeshaEdwards

Hey! I'm so glad that you found your way here and are interested in learning more about me. Let's get into it:

First things first, if you haven't gathered it yet, my name is Khyneesha. It's pronounced (CAHH-NEE-SHUH).

I've been in love with all forms of art for as long as I can remember. In kindergarten I thought I was the next Basquiat, and by 4th grade I just knew my clothing designs would be on the NYFW runways. Over the years, my interests expanded to include journalism, photo styling, visual merchandising, illustration and most dear to my heart, GRAPHIC DESIGN.

My professional journey started in 2012 at Stephens College (Go Susies!). In 2016, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Fashion Communication, emphasis in graphic design. I'm currently based in Kansas City, Missouri, where I was born and raised. I work full-time as a remote Senior Graphic Designer for MissionWired, a marketing agency based in Washington D.C.

I believe in creativity, going above and beyond, and learning in the most unexpected ways. As a Black woman, it's important to me to be intentional about taking up space and adding my unique approach to the design landscape. I enjoy partnering with other Black and Brown individuals and organizations who serve marginalized communities. Because I value the continued advancement and unity of our global community, it's important to me to prioritize clients who are committed to improving their communities, challenging harmful norms and advocating for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

I'm an enthusiastic Aries and an enthusiastic ENFJ (total extraverted introvert here lol). When I'm not riding my bike around town or planning my next solo trip, you can find me doodling in Procreate on my iPad.

My passion for graphic design extends beyond the screen. I've served on the board for AIGA Kansas City since 2019, leading the mentorship program, serving as President, and currently leading the Education committee. I also serve and lead within Kansas City's greater design community and beyond.
